How to play Orrdle Rush
Ten seconds, three lives, one question: left or right?
Rush asks one question over and over: does this player shoot left or right? Cards come one at a time, you have ten seconds on the clock and three lives, and every correct call buys you another second. It ends when the clock or the lives run out.
The daily run deals the same players in the same order to everyone, so a score is worth comparing. Arcade reshuffles as often as you like.
Controls
Swipe left (or press A / the left arrow) for players who shoot left.
Swipe right (or press D / the right arrow) for players who shoot right.
Goaltenders are called the same way, on the hand they catch with - which is the opposite of how a goalie is usually described, so a "left-handed catcher" is a left swipe. Roughly two NHL skaters in three shoot left, so when a name means nothing to you, left is the better coin-flip.
The clock
Ten seconds to start. Every correct call adds one second back.
The clock runs on real elapsed time rather than on ticks, so switching tabs does not hand out free seconds, and it pauses for the moment of feedback after each card. A long run is a run of fast calls: the second you earn is smaller than the second a hesitation costs.
Lives and scoring
Three lives. A wrong call costs one. Points come from a base of 100 per card, plus 10 for every second left on the clock, plus ten per cent for each card in your current streak.
Because the streak multiplier compounds and the time bonus rewards answering early, a clean fast run is worth far more than a long careful one. Losing a life does not end the run, but it does reset what the next card is worth.
Daily and arcade
Daily: everyone gets the same players in the same order. One game per day.
Arcade: unlimited random games, and nothing is recorded.
The daily pool is built by walking the league standings and then shuffling with the day's own seed, so every player on a given date gets an identical deck no matter what time zone they are in. Only daily runs are counted toward the global comparison.
